Real Media and Real video

Real media is a file format that can be played with the real player software from Real networks. Real media files are normally not playable in windows media player as the real media player doesn't include a DirectShow filter. Real media files normally have the filename extension .rm or .ram. To be able to capture frames from real media files in fast video indexer you need to have a direct show codec pack for real media files installed. RealMedia Splitter allows you to play RealVideo video files using Windows Media Player or grab frames with Fast video indexer. You still need to have the real player installed to use the real media splitter. Real alternative includes the needed codecs and can be downloaded for free if you don't want to install the real media software.
